MODERNIZING THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE

I will harness technology to make the Office of the Secretary of State more user-friendly and a partner in job creation in California.
I am committed to leading California into the future in terms of the way we run elections in this country, taking advantage of the technology that has emerged since I left office.

But we need to go further.

I will continue to design and implement technological enhancements in the Secretary of State's office. This includes the ability to file all documents and access information electronically. I look forward to building on the foundation I laid as Secretary of State, such as the reporting of election returns on the Internet, which I pioneered.

Much can be done to make the Secretary of State's office more user-friendly to voters and to consumers, and I am committed to doing those things.
