Candidate Statement
It has been my privilege and honor to be your County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk since 1994. I am once again respectfully requesting your vote for re-election.

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION: My professional background spans 28 years in local governments in San Diego. My education includes a Masters Degree in Public Administration at San Diego State.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Successfully manages one of the largest Assessor's offices in the State with total assessments of over $213 billion. Received 37 achievement awards from the National Association of Counties for computerization.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Customer service is my number one priority. I have established 5 branch offices, service on Saturdays, 24-hour telephone information, and an interactive website to permit maximum public access to information and services.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Member of the San Diego State Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Navy League, and Past Chair of the County Employees' United Way/CHAD Campaign.

FAMILY: My wife Arlette and I have two children, Julie, 14, and Harrison, 11. I am a homeowner and have been a San Diego resident all my adult life.
