I worked my way through college without a government scholarship, and graduated in 1972 from U.W. G.B.

I served in Viet Nam in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1969 after nearly two years, and some minor combat injuries.

and have worked as a private consultant in Environmental Assessments.

Real Estate investments and sales helped me retire when I was 41 years old. Bored, I went back to sales in Santa Maria in a down market and was successful.

Married with 7 children. I enjoy the full support of my wife of 34 years, Carole.

In 2000, disgusted with the TAX & SPEND folks running for all offices, I decided to run. Immediately I blew the whistle on $150,000 of YOUR income TAX money WASTED by some of the men I ran against then, and one who runs against me now. That was YOUR money taken by Big Government from you and funneled back to local City of Santa Maria, to buy loyalty to BIG GOVERNMENT projects that violate the constitution as well as waste your money.

While others talked about bringing conventions to Santa Maria, I did it in Feb. 15-18 2002, without costing the tax-payers one penny. It brought tens of thousands of NEW dollars to a slow February economy. Again at no cost the the city or taxpayers.

I produce and host a Tv show on CH-22 , Monday thru Friday at 4 - 5pm and Wednesday thru Friday at 7-8 pm, ON SECOND THOUGHT, where the SPIN comes to a dead stop, and truth is spoken. I have done this at an investment of my own time and money. In so doing I brought the Orcutt Spec. Serv District elections debate put on by League of Women Voters on CH-22 for all to see, and the October 2000 Congressional Debate.

In ways that are not always obvious, I have contributed to the welfare of this community, at my own expense. No paycheck from government coffers came my way.

I intend to be an INDEPENDANT VOICE on the board, defending everyone Rights, and owned neither by one group or the other.
