Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Wendy Greuel

Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Los Angeles; District 2

This information is provided by the candidate

I am proud to say that throughout my professional career I have been dedicated to improving the quality of life for our Valley--from my work as an advocate for children and the homeless under Mayor Tom Bradley, to spearheading the efforts to restore our Valley neighborhoods following the Northridge Earthquake.

I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and have lived in the 2nd Council District for most of my adult life. I'm proud to be a product of our local public schools and a graduate of UCLA.

For the past several months, I have been walking door to door talking with and listening to my neighbors to better understand the challenges each of us face everyday.

All across the district, people agree that our city council is not doing enough to ensure that the Valley -- especially the 2nd Council District -- is getting its fair share of city services. This has to change.

We need more police, quicker emergency response, better and smaller neighborhood schools, clean neighborhoods and enhanced open space and a transportation system that works.

We need energetic leadership with bold ideas to change the business as usual attitude in City Hall. For government to work, we must invite all of our citizens to participate in the governance of this city -- not just the special interests.

I have heard your concerns and have developed a detailed plan to address some of these problems. Thank you for taking the time to read through "A Vision For the Valley" and feel free to call me with your thoughts.

I would be honored to have your support on March 5th so that together, we can improve the quality of life for our neighborhoods.
