Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Garry T. Eagles

Candidate for
Superintendent of Schools; County of Humboldt

This information is provided by the candidate

On my home page you will find more compete information about my 6-point vision for continued school improvement as your next county superintendent. These points include:

1) To leave no child unserved. Every child must have the opportunity to master the basic skills for adult living, to be challenged by high expectations, and to have access to a wide array of program options that will meet their individual needs. 2) To increase the number of our children going on to college or advanced vocational training after high school. 3) To support our local economy by helping to upgrade the skills of our current workforce. 4) To expand staff development training opportunities for teachers so that they remain well-prepared to address the needs of our students. 5) To advocate for a different way for the state to fund our rural schools to insure that our children have access to the same strong, well-balanced educational programs as their urban and suburban counterparts. 6) To help our schools identify and implement more cost-effective ways of operating, such as combining administrative and business services, in order to maximize the resources that can be dedicated to the classroom.
