  • 12 years elected member - Fresno County Retirement Board - managing over $1.6 billion in pension fund assets
  • 4 years in Public Accounting - emphasis in audits of government and non-profit entities - Certified Public Accountant
  • The only candidate with extensive investment experience necessary to effectively perform the duties of the "Treasurer" role of this position
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration - Accounting Option from Fresno State University
Priorities:
  • Support the separation of the pension fund administrative duties from the Treasurer's Office
  • Streamline the current Divisions within the Auditor-Controller's Office in anticipation of budget cuts from Federal, State and Local governments
  • Increase productivity and efficiency in expediting projects and issues by improving communication avenues to other County Depts & Board of Supervisors

  • Auditor in public practice for 19 years
  • Sole proprietor of Joe Chaidez Accountancy
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Cal Poly, Pomona, Major in Accounting
  • Chair ProTem, Planning Commission, City of Clovis
  • Chairman, Citizen's Oversight Committee, Clovis Unified School District
  • Chairman, Fresno County Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Priorities:
  • Improve communication with the Board of Supervisors and other department heads.
  • Improve the low morale and high turnover, which currently exists in the office.
  • Perform tough internal audits to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
