I have been involved in education as a parent, a teacher in the District and presently as an administrator for the County Schools Office. I am now completing my second term as trustee and continue to commit to the goals of ensuring what is best for our students, staff and community. These include:

• Work with our new superintendent and board to enhance the past, successful
accomplishments of this district. This is our opportunity to be even better.

• Excellence, via standards and assessments, is achieved through a positive and
productive school experience.

• Continue to address campus safety and the deterrence of violence as top
priorities within the district and the community.

• Ensure that the modernization and construction efforts for our schools meet their
promised timeline.

• Continue to advocate for equitable salaries for district staff within a framework of
fiscal responsibility.

I believe the primary purpose of education is to provide all students with skills for success and to produce thinking citizens with a strong sense of civic duty. Schools need to nurture proper attitudes and skills for the work place. Equity and the philosophy that all students, regardless of background, can succeed are prime ingredients in the formula for success.
