How can I ever express my appreciation for your help?
When I started this journey four years ago, I was alone at the board meetings, bond meetings, blue ribbon meetings, budget meetings and all the other after school meetings I attended. One political friend told me that running for political office is the lonliest thing in the world. But not for me. It has been filled with wonderful supporters, friends, teachers and even former students. It has been like attending my own funeral service except I am alive and can hear the positive effect I have had on people. I want to thank all of you who have attended the mailing parties, walked the precincts with me and without me, called friends and urged them to vote, called me with ideas, ran around neighborhoods putting up signs, pushed me to remember why I was undertaking this journey and for the people that are calling now on the last few days. If you ever want to know how people feel about you, don't wait till it is too late. Run for a political office. It will be the most amazing life changing, rewarding event in your life. You will be pushed to the heights and depths of your energy, but you will know at the end of the campaign that even if you lose the election, you have made people question. You have involved people in a grand experience and you have been rewarded because you gave your best and received the best from those that believe in you. Thank you
