Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Resa Foss

Candidate for
Board Member; Monterey Peninsula Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

This information is provided by the candidate

As a community member, as a parent and as a teacher in Monterey County for the past fifteen years I've seen many changes in our School District. My goal is to move MPUSD forward in a positive direction.

Our children need a strong foundation in basic skills and we need to build on these skills to prepare them for the challenges of the future. Our children deserve schools which will support and challenge them, schools which stress problem solving for the real world. We need schools where children learn critical thinking skills and learn to be part of a team We must make every effort to provide schools that are safe and in good repair, to provide an environment where teachers can teach and children can learn.

To move forward to a positive future we need a school board which works in partnership with parents, community, teachers and support staff. A school board must set an example of respect, diligence, and teamwork and be open and accountable in their financial and educational decisions.

l appreciate your consideration and if you also support these goals, I will appreciate your vote.
