Kevin Hancock is running for the Eighth District San Diego City Council position. A resident of San Diego for 24 years he has contributed to America's Finest City as a successful businessman and community leader. He currently resides with his wife Brenda Licón, a Tijuana pediatric dentist, in Southcrest in District 8, but has also lived in Golden Hill. If elected, he plans to re-invent confidence in government by using a contract with 8th District voters outlining his policies.

Personal Background
Hancock was born in Sacramento and raised in Yuba City, CA, an agricultural center. In Yuba City he worked as a farm worker and cabinet-maker from a very young age. In 1977 he left Yuba City and moved to San Diego to join the Navy. After leaving the Navy in 1980 he worked as a cook and a bakery manager before entering back into the construction field. In addition, he has worked as a property manager.

Hancock and his family have owned and operated a counter-top and cabinet-making business for over 30 years.Community Involvement

As a successful businessman concerned about the community, Hancock has invested time and money to improve neighborhoods. As a real estate investor he has revitalized residential properties all over District 8 especially in Golden Hill and Southcrest, making a significant impact on the quality of life in the neighborhoods. Currently, he lives in and manages a 16-unit apartment complex that he has transformed from a crack house to a safe family atmosphere.

He is presently serving as vice-president of his neighborhood chapter of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Professional Experience
Hancock's more than 20 years of local business and community experience gives him a professional savvy. In addition, he is a state licensed contractor.

Integrtiy
Not only is Hancock involved in the community, but he also holds a solid business reputation. He is in excellent standing with the Better Business Bureau and State Contractors Licensing Board.
