The One America plan and song are designed to improve race relations which will promote unity in our communities and to illustrate the Republican Party is a party for all people regardless of a person's socio-economic or ethnic background.

Racial Unity/The First Hand Knowledge Rule

There should be no boundaries between races! One's ethnicity is truly irrelevant. Although there has been focus and improvement in this issue, we have a long way to go to completely erase the blight of racial prejudice. Let's use the significance of the new century to start anew in correcting the problem. Why is it not possible to judge a person based solely on that person's capabilities? Why do we classify racial groups? One America will make America Number One.

As the California Party Chairman stated recently regarding the rebuilding of the Republican Party, "In order to achieve these goals, we must work diligently together." Thus, even though we are all different, it is essential we build and improve our district, state and country by working together rather than permitting racial or ethnic prejudice to interfere with healthy progress.

It is crucial that all American citizens work together to achieve the common goal of a great America solving its problems, regardless of ethic or racial differences. One's character and personality characteristics make that person, not his skin color. Abraham Lincoln said it best, "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal." We must work hard to achieve this goal. It can be done although some have given up, failing to heed the words of Winston Churchill during World War II when Great Britain looked defeat square in the face. Churchill said, "Never quit. Never give in to anything great or small. Never quit. Never quit. Never quit."

Here, the "education" element of the four cornerstones is applicable. Education can and eventually will eradicate prejudice against a fellow American.

"One America" is the official campaign theme song for D. C. Taylor, Republican for California State Assembly, District 42. "One America" written, produced and performed by Mike Renneker

"ONE AMERICA"

This country is more than just a place

more than a vast, wide open space

it's more of an idea, who's time is here and now

it's people are bound by what they share

by what is right and what is fair

and now it's time to pull together

chorus

let there be one America, one America

where we can celebrate our colors as we stand as sisters and brothers

let's make one America, one America,

let us be a lightning rod

one nation under God

one America, one America

This country stands for one ideal

built by blood and sweat and steel

and let us not forget the ones who gave up their lives

so ever higher we can climb

one strong family at a time

now is our chance to work together

chorus

let's move forth blameless from the past

united one and all at last

in freedom let us come together

for a better future

chorus

In conclusion, Abraham Lincoln said it best, "A house divided among itself cannot stand." We must now pull together for a better tomorrow.
