Candidate for
Governing Board Member; City of Santa Rosa High School District

As a member of the Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education I support the Board's comprehensive plan to improve student achievement in each of our schools. Before becoming a Board member I served on the district's Academic Standards Steering Committee. I am a director of the Sonoma County Business Education Roundtable.

I have lived in Santa Rosa for 22 years. My wife is a retired elementary school teacher and our two children graduated from Santa Rosa City Schools.

I retired in December 1997 after a 30 year career in the telecommunications industry that spanned many disciplines including operations, customer service and human resources planning. Prior to retirement I seved as president of the Pacific Bell Foundation and assistant to the Chairman and CEO of Pacific Telesis Group. I was an active member of the California Business Roundtable's Education Task Force where I lead the development and implementation of the CBR's education policy agenda. I also served on the Education Working Group of the national Business Roundtable and the Business Policy Council of the National Alliance of Business.
