Merv Morris:

"Artherton is in need of responsible and effective leadership. One candidate has demonstrated these qualities.

Charles Marsala's campaign emphasizes "experience, vision, results." I believe he will deliver these to Atherton for the challenges we face.

Although Charles and I share a personal frienship, I first became acquainted with Charles through civic affairs. We have worked together on the parcel tax and the Citizens Screening Committee for a New City Manager, and I have participated in functions by the Art Atherton Arts Committee, of which he is vice chairman.

I urge my friends and neighbors to join me in my enthusiastic support of Charles Marsala."

San Mateo Times:

"Marsala (has) experience in city governance and proven dedication to the city.

Marsala is newer to town but is already involved in civic activities, including serving on the Park and Recreation Committission and waste reduction committee and participating in city budget workshops. Hw wants to engage more community members in city activities through recreation, not just city politics.

We find him the freshest face among the candidates on the city's political landscape."

Sheri Sobrato:

"I have known Charles for over four years. I have observed his leadership leadership abilities in action many times. I have often asked him to become involved in nonprofit organizations I support. Whether it was sitting on a board or working with young entrepreneurs, Charles has always helped the organizatoion achieve focus and produce results.

I have also met his employees. I feel many companies would envy his employees' corporate spirit and many executives would respect the sincere apprecitaion his employees have for him.

For the last two years Charles has been involved in the Atherton Arts efforts to "Build Community" in Atherton. He takes advantage of every opportunity to bring our town together, whether at Art Committee functions or events of several other town groups. As a member of the Waste REduction Committee, he worked with other residents to obtain compliance for Atherton with state laws, thereby saving us from $10,000 a day in fines.

During the last year, Charles has attended almost every council meeting as well as over 40 other town and committee meeting. In March, he left an East Coast vacation early to attend the Citizens Screening Panel for the Town's New City Manager. He campaigned to pass the parcel tax. He has been studying ways to finance the road and storm drainage repairs and is ready to take action on these issues. He has studied and understands the budget, and our school issues.

As the town goes forward it will need someone who can work with the staff, committees and residents to produce results. It will need someone who will represent Atherton in a manner that makes us proud to be here. The town needs an experienced leader whose vision will produce results. The town needs Charles Marsala"
