Why I am endorsing two other candidates

Why I ran for office, and why I now endorse WALTER MILLAR and PATRICIA ANDREEN for the two open positions in Trustee Area 1.
I decided to file for the position of trustee when I opened the paper one morning to learn the County School Board race had closed with only two candidates for two spots. This was very distressing to me. In an uncontested race there is NO public exposure of candidates' views, so voters have NO CHOICE!

There were also only two candidates for two positions in the San Luis Coastal Trustee Area #1 race. But the SLCUSD filing period had been extended by a couple of days, so I went right down and filed. I also paid my $685 part of the printing costs for a ballot statement. A school board race is so important that the sacrifice to insure voter choice was worthwhile.

I invested considerable time, money, and energy in advancing my candidacy, purely as a public service. But had I known sooner of the splendid qualifications of two other candidates, I would have withdrawn early and devoted my time to working for their election.

Walter Millar and Patricia Andreen are two excellent candidates who will work well with the other Board members to achieve the best affordable educational experience for all students, and good working conditions and pay for teachers.

If you would have voted for me, I urge you to instead vote for Walter Millar and Patrcia Andreen, for cooperative, FAIR representation on your public school board.
