Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Bill O'Connell

Candidate for
Judge of the Superior Court; County of San Diego; Office 25

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe that a judge must protect society. Murderers, rapists, drug-dealers, child molesters, and other dangerous felons must be kept off our streets. I want the citizens of San Diego County to feel, and be, safe in their homes, on the streets, in their schools and in their communities.

I believe that a judge must make his courtroom user-friendly, so that all citizens will have fair and impartial hearings in their cases. This would include beginning the court calendar on time so that people are not kept waiting.

I feel that a judge must attempt to help the parties resolve their lawsuits short of going to trial. This is better for the litigants and the taxpayers. My 23-plus years of experience have shown that most cases can be resolved without trial.
