In addition to the three top priorities listed, I have one more top priority: the Park Board budget. Just recently, three of the five existing Directors (excluding the two who endorse me) passed a budget that is higher than their anticipated revenues. This is wrong. This means if I am elected, I start on a board who is already in the "red." We have a smaller tax base and lower revenues than many of our surrounding communities. We cannot pretend to be their size. And in saying so, we need to stay within our means. Recreational programs are self-funded and so my plan to increase the number of programs would not increase the money needed for our budget. If you are interested in more information, I kept the article written about the budget in the Orangevale News.
