Candidate for
Director; Southgate Recreation & Park District; Division 5

I was born in Sacramento, California and have been a resident of Sacramento County since 1964. I have been happily married for 32 years. Since 1979 I have lived in Southgate Recreation and Park District 5. I have been involved in community recreational events, as a softball couch for the Elk Grove Girls softball league for 7 years and as a soccer dad with my son and daughter's soccer team. I was one of the founding community members of the Valley High soccer club. In 1991 I helped the homeowners in Silver Springs form the Silver Springs Homeowners Association and was secretary of the board. In 1995 I began service on the Vineyard Area Community Planning Advisory Council. As a member of the Council I encouraged responsible growth and advocated for safe and practical pedestrian and bicycle thoroughfares that link communites with economic and educational centers. I was appointed to the Southgate Recreation and Park District Board on August 1, 2000. I am interested in preserving open spaces within communities that will allow future generations to participate in recreational and nature activities.
