This information is provided by the candidate

I am Vice-President of the San Juan School Board. During my four years on the board, test scores increased, schools were modernized, and the Board established a responsible maintenance policy.

From my 20 years in business as an owner/builder/manager of commercial and residential real estate, I have learned the importance of fiscal responsibility. I will continue to work to streamline the district organization, find additional funding, and implement a budget process that will result in increased student achievement.

San Juan students must become life long learners to be prepared for the workplace and our technological global economy. I support the teaching of basic skills as well as an academically challenging curriculum for all students, which includes fine and performing arts. Also important are open enrollment and reporting student achievement to the community.

As a parent of two San Juan graduates, I am aware of the need for continual improvement in school safety, academic excellence, student responsibility and self-discipline. I bring to this office 38 years of experience as a San Juan Board member, retired educator, businessperson, and parent.
There is still more to be accomplished; please return me to the San Juan School Board for another term.
