Shall the territory within the city limits of the City of Isleton be annexed into the Sacramento Public Library Community Facilities District No. 19906-01 for the provision of improved library services including restoration of open hours, funding for new books and updated technology?

Impartial Analysis from Isleton City Attorney
If approved, Measure U will allow the Sacramento Public Library Community Facilities District to be expanded to include the territory of the city of Isleton. The Library District was formed in 1996 in accordance with the provisions of the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982 for the purpose of funding improved public library services through the levy of a special property assessment on non-exempt real property located within the Sacramento Public Library Community Facilities District No.1996-01.

The Library District is currently made up of the unincorporated territory of the County of Sacramento and the cities of Citrus Heights and Elk Grove. Measure U, if approved, will permit the city of Isleton to become part of the Sacramento Public Library Community Facilities District and receive a share of any library revenue derived from such assessments as may be approved by voters of the Library District.
