Smart Voter Political Philosophy for R. William "Bill" Robinson

Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District; Division 4

This information is provided by the candidate

Only member of the Board to oppose the unpopular reclaimed sewer water project of the District. A similar proposal of the District was opposed in court by a local brewery about 5 years ago. The resulting compromise project has a very poor business plan and shaky economics, including no ratepayer benefits for those who pay water bills.

The District has wasted 3.3 million in expenditure during the past 4 years on this project. The project will never be built, but the District will not admit this fact until after the election for pure political reasons. The project location cannot now even be located on a map (October 10, 2000) by anyone associated with the District, including the Board of Directors, General Manager, District Engineer or our consultants. The expenditures should stop now, let the bad idea die in peace.

The County Sanitation Districts should upgrade their treatment technologies before the project is ever brought back to the people of the S.G. Valley. Move fast to force the State Department of Health Services to conduct research, community health studies, to meet the emerging challenges of Chromium 6 regulation. (Erin Brockovitch)

Cut self serving District PR budget. The only coverage that matter is the independent news media. The public has enough newsletters and junk mail. We should not spend taxpayer's money to tell those on our mailing list: What a good job we are doing.

Serving you since January 1989. Experience matters. Reelect Bill Robinson
