Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Loren K. Louthan

Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; Castaic Lake Water Agency; Division 1

My political philosophy is Libertarian.

I do not believe that at the Federal level there should be as much control as there presently is. Most issues that the Federal Government has been involved in of late are better served by State and Local Government.

Too often, people in government forget that the Taxpayers have elected them to work for the good of the community. Expenditures are not given enough thought as to the cost to the everyday person. We need fresh ideas to turn around a serious threat to the well-being of the people of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Developers try to strong-arm local governments and other local control bodies (such as Water Boards) into settling for a compromise that is not in the best interests of the people that are supposed to be served by the Local Government or Board. Developers must understand that there is a price to be paid for developing land and bringing ever-more people into an area, which taxes the available water, roadways and school systems.
