Statement by Candidate
Dear Residents of AVEK District Four,

As a third generation resident of the Antelope Valley and an AVEK Board Member, I know the CRITICAL IMPORTANCE of an ample supply of HIGH QUALITY water, FAIRLY priced, for all residents of our valley.

If a quality source of water is not available, the citizens of our valley will experience a lessening quality of life, fewer jobs, and a stagnant economy. Our future water supply can only be ASSURED by long range planning, to include ground water recharge, modern CONSERVATION practices, and effective reclamation.

Long range planning is important to our community, state and nation to assure enough water for our FUTURE needs. It is CRITICAL for future generations to IMPROVE our water management practices, to PROVIDE for the protection of our water sources and continued IMPROVEMENT of the environment.

As an AVEK Board Member, I'm proud to have helped guide our water agency in achieving these goals:

  • The formation of the A. V. State Water Contractors' Association
  • The development of a RESPECTED and FINANCIALLY sound water district
  • The initiation of an effective pilot water recharge program
  • The DECREASE of the water district TAX RATE BY 20%.

Your Vote is APPRECIATED.

Thank you.

George Lane
