  • Registered Professional Engineer in California & 4 other western states. Over 36 years of civil engineering practice in the water field
  • Teach senior & graduate level classes in water resources, water quality & water treatment at Loyola Marymount University
  • Prior to teaching was regional manager for environmental engineering firm
  • Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and a member of the Sierra Club
  • Nearly 30 year resident of Monterey Park & Member of the Water District Board for 10 years
Priorities:
  • Maintain rate for imported water at lowest level possible, currently about 1/2 of Metropolitan's rate
  • Continue to lower property tax rate without jeopardizing reserves
  • Continue to support projects that drought-proof the District & clean-up groundwater

  • Jeff Schwartz fought against Legislation which would eliminate Local Control of Water Quality.
