I'm running for several reasons: 1)I want to give back to a community that took me in 6 years ago. This community has educated me: BC graduate 1997 and CSUB (2000) This community has also employed me and I have lived an almost stress-free lifestyle since I moved to Bakersfield. I may have an external profile for business and smart growth, however, my true serenity comes from the culture that Bakersfield has exposed me to over the past 6 years. I grew-up with the Yankees and Broadway, then moved to Los Angeles with the Lakers and Hollywood, and I would be lying if I didn't state that Bakersfield has just as much talent and hertigage rivaling either city. The Condors and the Starz Theater, the BC Renegades football and the Bakersfield Museum of Art, The Centennial Gardens and The Bakersfield Symphony and much more....with that in mind !

2) Why do Political Action Committees, Business donations, special interest groups pour thousands of dollars to help Elect someone to a Part-time position that only pays a $100 per meeting.. I stand strong on no recieving any monies from these groups and organizations. I would rather see this money invested into the arts. I have seen where $1000 in a theater program or in the Boys and Girls club reap more benefits to our community then electing an official to office. Why then do they do this? I have used almost 75% of my own money because I believe that people would understand that my same dedication to my election would be applied to the office of City Council.

3) Finally, I care about Bakersfield. I don't know every concern in Bakersfield. In fact, I hate the idea that we as average citizens of Bakersfield we are left out of the loop. I promise that if elected I will think only with the influence of the people of Ward 5 and Bakersfield not the special interest groups.
