We must educate all of our children regardless of their ethnicity or other factors if we are to have a progressive society
The education of our children to the fullest extent of a their desires and abilities is essential to growth and prosperity of our nation as a whole and our community. I cannot the notion that some children cannot learn because of what they are and are less deserving. As a counselor in the Educational Opportunity Program at Fresno State for over 25 years, I worked with many students who were considered less than capable of college success by their high school counselors and teachers and who went on to careers in professions they had never expected possible. I believe that we can do a better job of preparing our children for the future and that we all must have the will to provide them with a quality education.

My wife, an excellent primary grades teacher with the District for over 30 years, and I have dedicated our lives to the education of our children and the children of Fresno. Now that she has retired, she is suppervising teacher candidates at Fresno State. I retired early from Fresno State in order to committ more time to the District in a continual attempt to improve the quality of the education of our students.

I have many interests, but "kids are number one".
