Carole Hayashino has a master's in educational administration from the University of San Francisco, and currently is Director of Development at San Francisco State University. She has lived in San Rafael for 15 years with her husband Kyle Tatsumoto, daughter Ali and son Kenso.

  • 1995, Community Leadership Award, Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California.

  • 1995, Creating Change Award, from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

Leadership Experience in Education
Carole worked in the 1970s to support the first and only College of Ethnic Studies in the nation, at San Francisco State University. She continues as an Adjunct Professor.

As Director of Development at San Francisco State University, Carole Hayashino is the highest-ranking Asian American woman in the University's administration. She manages the alumni, corporate and foundation relations for the university.
