I believe democracy is a participatory process. Our elected representatives should be open and responsive to the people we serve. Although I have served on elected and appointed bodies that have serious philosophical differences, I have always been proud of our ability to treat one another and the public with respect. As a councilmember for four years and a planning commissioner for three years, I have always upheld high ethical standards and high standards of personal integrity. My campaign has broad-based support throughout the 3d District and the County of Sonoma from neighborhood leaders, other elected representatives, professionals, small businesses, and environmentalists. I firmly believe that in order to resolve the many problems confronting our county, we need leadership that will bring people together to find our common ground, not divide us and manipulative us for political gain. That is the kind of leadership I have provided as a City Councilwoman and will proudly continue to provide as your Supervisor.
