GOVERNMENT FAILS TO SAVE THE CHILDREN

By Mike Dismukes

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 9

This information is provided by the candidate
It is time for the people to control their own government.
My own difficult childhood is nothing in relationship to the horrors suffered by children of deadbeat parents fighting a deadbeat government system for child support. $ 100 million dollars on a computer system that does not work? I make this public invitation to Ms. Barbara Grob of Child Support Reform Initiative, a Public Media Center Project, and to any other special interest group or parent intent on protecting our children: on December 1 , 1 998, we shall meet and commit to a new level of competence and enforcement for the Automated Child Support System. I specifically invite Intel of Roseville (and each of their employees), the California State Bar Association (and each of their members), and the District Attorney (support division) to come forth and volunteer their personal time for the children. The government incompetence needs to stop. When government fails, as it has done here, then it is time for the people to guide the government. Remember that in America, it is the people who rule, not the politicians. I will fight for any direction given by the people. Please, no more victimization of the children.

I propose a specific plan for SAFETY: Safe schools with alternative dispute resolution programs and peer review; Safe homes with mandatory suspected abuse reporting requirements for schools, public service employees, teachers, counselors, police, courts, social workers, attorneys, doctors, nurses, home-care providers, and animal hospitals; Safe streets with parole and probation reform to keep repeat offenders off the streets and under control.
